Roll-off containers for Troy homes and jobsites
Troy is a thirty minute run straight up US-61 and it is the largest place we serve north of Wentzville. It is also a different county: Lincoln County, with its own offices, its own permitting and its own right-of-way process, separate from St. Charles County entirely. That catches people out. If the container is going anywhere but a private driveway, ask Lincoln County and the City of Troy, and confirm the current requirements rather than relying on what applied on a job somewhere else, because these rules get revised.
Troy is the Lincoln County seat and it has been growing steadily for two decades. That gives us two distinct kinds of work. The older core around the courthouse and the original downtown streets holds early 20th century frame and brick with plaster and lath, old-growth framing and small rooms — heavy demolition that wants a smaller container and a swap rather than a big box nobody can legally haul, and pre-1980 material that should be tested for asbestos in floor tile, mastic, pipe wrap and plaster skim coats before anybody swings a hammer. Then there are the newer subdivisions on the edges of town, 1990s through 2000s and later, full basements throughout, all hitting first refresh together: decks at end of life, second and third roofs after the hail springs, original kitchens and baths coming out, and unfinished basements finally getting framed and finished.
Beyond the town it is rural Lincoln County — farms, acreage, pole barns, long gravel drives, septic tanks and wells — and property cleanouts out there are consistently bigger than people estimate, because nothing has ever been thinned out by kerbside bulk pickup. Weather is a real driver here too. Spring severe weather across this open country produces hail and straight-line wind damage in quantity, ice and freeze-thaw crack driveways and aprons every winter on expansive clay, and downed oak, hickory and silver maple limb wood has to ride as a separate clean load because Missouri does not allow yard waste into a sanitary landfill.
What we know about working in Troy
Lincoln County first. This is not St. Charles County and the process is not the same, so for a street, shoulder or right-of-way placement, deal with Lincoln County and the City of Troy, and confirm the current requirements before you plan around them. Downtown Troy adds its own constraints: the streets around the courthouse are tight, drives are short, and there is limited room to set a container anywhere but on the property itself. Protection boards go under every container as standard, which matters on the older concrete here where decades of freeze-thaw on clay have opened joints and spalled edges. In the newer subdivisions the constraint is more often an association’s container rules and day limit than anything physical, so get that window in writing before you book and we will schedule inside it. Out in the county the rural checks apply in full: gravel drive length, grade and drainage; a firm place to set that is clear of the septic tank, lateral field and well head; room for a loaded truck to back and pull out; and enough overhead clearance for a hoist arm, which mature trees along an old drive often do not give. Flag low limbs when you book. Call Missouri 811 before digging near a placement.

Getting a truck to you
US-61 north from Wentzville through Moscow Mills and on into Troy, with Highway 47 taking us east and west across town. Thirty minutes from the yard on a normal morning. US-61 is a good road and traffic is rarely the problem; the county line is. Troy is Lincoln County, so right-of-way questions go there and not to St. Charles County. Give us the subdivision and any association day limit for in-town jobs, or the drive surface, grade, septic and well locations for anything rural.
Routes we run: US-61 north from Wentzville through Moscow Mills, Highway 47 east and west through town, the US-61 business route and old downtown streets, the county roads out toward Cuivre River State Park.

Permits, streets and placement in Troy
On a private driveway in Troy you generally do not need a municipal permit. Placement in the public street or right-of-way is a different matter and normally requires approval — from the borough or township where the road is locally maintained, or from MoDOT where it is a state route. Every municipality in Lincoln County runs its own form and its own lead time, and older streets here often have no off-street parking at all, so plan the permit before you plan the delivery. It is a ten-minute call that saves a week.
Our permit and placement guide walks through the whole process, and Missouri DNR publishes the Covered Device Recycling Act rules and the other statewide disposal restrictions that apply to every load we haul out of Troy. County recycling and household hazardous waste dates are published by St. Charles County.

Dumpster Rental in Troy — FAQs
Is Troy under St. Charles County rules?
No. Troy is the Lincoln County seat, and Lincoln County runs its own permitting and right-of-way process separate from St. Charles County. On a private driveway you generally need no approval. For a street, shoulder or right-of-way placement, the conversation is with Lincoln County and the City of Troy. Requirements change, so confirm the current rules with them before delivery day rather than going on a previous job.
How far out do you deliver north of Troy?
Troy is about thirty minutes from our yard on US-61 and we serve it and the surrounding Lincoln County countryside regularly, usually pairing a Troy delivery with a Moscow Mills stop so the truck is working in both directions. A day of notice helps us hold a good window. Next-day delivery is routine and next-day swaps are standard, and same-day is possible when something is already headed north.
What should I know about a downtown Troy remodel?
Weight and age. The older core is plaster on wood lath over old-growth framing, which runs roughly two to three times the weight of a modern drywall gut for the same volume, so we send a smaller container and swap it. Pre-1980 buildings need asbestos testing on floor tile, mastic, pipe wrap and plaster skim coats before demolition, and we cannot accept asbestos-containing material in any container.
How quickly can you deliver a dumpster to Troy?
Troy is about 20 miles north of our May Road yard, so it is a routine run for us. Same-day delivery is usually possible if you call before about 11am, and next morning otherwise. Storm weeks and the spring remodeling peak can stretch that, and we will tell you honestly when you call.
Do you charge extra to deliver to Troy?
No. Troy sits inside our standard service area and the flat rate is the same as it is in Wentzville. Delivery, pickup, your rental window and disposal up to the agreed tonnage are all included in the number we quote you.
What size dumpster do most Troy customers take?
A 20 yard is the most common by a wide margin — it suits kitchen guts, multi-room renovations and three-bedroom house cleanouts. But if you are stripping plaster and lath out of a pre-war house, or moving brick, block, concrete or a chimney, size DOWN to a 10 yard heavy container and take two hauls — that material hits the weight limit long before it fills the box.
