Troy is a thirty minute run straight up US-61 and it is the largest place we serve north of Wentzville. It is also a different county: Lincoln County, with its own offices, its own permitting and its own right-of-way process, separate from St. Charles County entirely. That catches people out. If the container is going anywhere but a private driveway, ask Lincoln County and the City of Troy, and confirm the current requirements rather than relying on what applied on a job somewhere else, because these rules get revised.

Troy is the Lincoln County seat and it has been growing steadily for two decades. That gives us two distinct kinds of work. Lincoln County first. This is not St. Charles County and the process is not the same, so for a street, shoulder or right-of-way placement, deal with Lincoln County and the City of Troy, and confirm the current requirements before you plan around them. Downtown Troy adds its own constraints: the streets around the courthouse are tight, drives are short, and there is limited room to set a container anywhere but on the property itself. Protection boards go under every container as standard, which matters on the older concrete here where decades of freeze-thaw on clay have opened joints and spalled edges. Getting a truck to you

US-61 north from Wentzville through Moscow Mills and on into Troy, with Highway 47 taking us east and west across town. Thirty minutes from the yard on a normal morning. US-61 is a good road and traffic is rarely the problem; the county line is. Troy is Lincoln County, so right-of-way questions go there and not to St. Charles County. Give us the subdivision and any association day limit for in-town jobs, or the drive surface, grade, septic and well locations for anything rural.

Permits, streets and placement in Troy

On a private driveway in Troy you generally do not need a municipal permit. Placement in the public street or right-of-way is a different matter and normally requires approval — from the borough or township where the road is locally maintained, or from MoDOT where it is a state route. Every municipality in Lincoln County runs its own form and its own lead time, and older streets here often have no off-street parking at all, so plan the permit before you plan the delivery.
